Surespan, in partnership with Cold Lake First Nations, was responsible for the design engineering, supply, installation, rental, and subsequent removal of a 180 ft × 16 ft L100 steel-girder timber-deck bridge for the Leming Lake Program–Sand River Pipeline Project. The bridge was supported on eight 610 mm diameter steel pipe piles with H-beam pile caps and bearing assemblies and was installed using a single-sided cantilever launch with a 110-ton crawler crane, temporary rollers, and aircraft-wheel equipment. Crews completed the installation in temperatures below −30°C despite steep, rough terrain and restricted lowbed access. Following approximately four months of service, Surespan dismantled and loaded out the bridge and removed the abutment components.
