Dedicated to thebuild.

Nearly fifty years later, that same entrepreneurial instinct continues to define us. We are a group of forward-thinking, high specialized companies – heavy civil construction, structural steel fabrication, precast concrete, ready-mix concrete supply, and bridge rentals – built to take on Canada’s most complex infrastructure projects.

Surespan specializes in the toughest infrastructure projects that demand ingenuity, expertise, and relentless execution. With capabilities spanning heavy civil construction, structural steel and precast concrete fabrication, ready-mix concrete, and bridge rentals, the Surespan Group is uniquely positioned to bring end-to-end capacity to every project – and the track record to prove it.

The safety and well-being of our team is the number one priority, always. We’ve built a culture of safety, where every member looks out for each other and is committed to following safety protocols.

When the standard approach won’t work, we build a better one. We see obstacles as opportunities to think outside the box and highlight our skills. No matter the challenge, we always find a way.

When we make a commitment, we keep it. Our clients trust us because we do what we say we’ll do — on time, on budget, no excuses.

Surespan is Founded

Seizing on an opportunity, without certainty of how he would get it done, our founder, Nigel Bester, dug deep and found a way to accomplish the first bridge for a forestry company. It was on this spirit of grit and innovation that Surespan was founded.

The Value of Hard Work

A decade defined by creativity and hard work, some of our major projects included hydro generating stations, wind turbines, and skybridges. From cutting a transit tunnel under an active railway in Winnipeg to serving as Owner’s Clerk of the Works on the Vegas Sphere, the 2010s proved Surespan could deliver anywhere, at any scale.

…and Beyond

This decade has already seen Surespan install one of the world’s longest clear-span temporary bridges, commission our own automated steel girder welding machine, and supply bridge decks and pipe towers to JFK Airport’s redevelopment — proof that our ambition keeps scaling. As we look ahead, from our leadership team to every member of our crew, we’re ready for bigger projects, harder problems, and work that hasn’t been done before.

Surespan Group is proud to have built a dynamic group of companies to handle projects ourselves. Construction, Structures, Ready-Mix and Bridge Rentals operate as independent specialists – and as a unified team when your project demands it. For clients, that means fewer handoffs, tighter accountability, and one team that sees the whole job through.

Work With the best.
