ROSS RIVER PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE

Project Type

Bridge Rehabilitation

Location

Ross River, YT

Surespan’s crew worked in temperatures below −40°C, constructing an ice bridge to provide access for a 110-tonne crane to both sides of the project. A new cable substructure was constructed, including driven piles and large concrete counterweights. The original bridge superstructure was removed in sections prior to transferring the main cables to the new substructure. The new superstructure consisted of a treated timber truss system, new hanger cables, and a new wind cable system.
