BELL IRVING RIVER BRIDGE REHABILITATION

Project Type

Bridge Rehabilitation

Location

Meziadin Junction, BC

Surespan rehabilitated Bell Irving River Bridge No. 1 on Highway 37, replacing the existing steel grating deck, bridge stringers, and all 16 bearings. The work included approximately 445,000 lb of structural steel replacement, bearing pedestal modifications, and associated structural repairs. Surespan maintained 24-hour single-lane alternating traffic throughout most of the rehabilitation, using short-duration full road closures to complete bridge jacking, bearing replacement, and stringer removal and installation.
