Surespan was responsible for the engineering, assembly, and launch of 184 m of structural steel for the Quartz Creek Bridge. The new four-lane bridge alignment was curved and superelevated, consisting of seven girder lines with girders of varying widths. Approximately 2.9 million pounds of structural steel was successfully launched uphill using a launch nose and cable launching system, with hydraulic guidance systems on the launch bed and at each substructure location. Surespan engineered the temporary works, lift plans, and installation plans. The project was completed under the BC Infrastructure Benefits program.
