Technical Support for Summerhaven Wind Energy Centre
Surespan provided Technical Field Advisors for the Summerhaven Wind Energy Centre in Haldimand County, Ontario. This 128.82 MW wind farm, developed by NextEra Energy Canada, includes 58 Siemens turbines and generates enough energy to power approximately 32,000 homes.
Siemens required on-site representatives to oversee turbine installation and ensure adherence to strict specifications. Due to our technicians’ experience with Siemens turbines, Surespan supplied half a dozen advisors to support the project. Our team worked closely with contractor H.B. White to maintain quality control and follow Siemens’ manual instructions.
Summerhaven’s frequent lightning requiring heightened safety measures for the overall project. Despite these conditions, the project ran smoothly, and Surespan ensured precise and efficient installation.
