Surespan was contracted by Windley Contracting to erect and launch the structural steel for the Sombrio #1 Bridge, a key milestone in our large-scale construction projects portfolio. This impressive structure spans 407 feet across a 100-foot deep ravine and required precise project management to execute successfully. The final stage involved cantilevering the structural steel 268 feet over the pier, supported by +/- 640,000 pounds of counterweight, showcasing our expertise in handling construction materials and ensuring quality control at every step. A 270-ton crane was used to position the steel into its final resting place, emphasizing our commitment to delivering reliable concrete solutions for both residential and commercial infrastructure needs.
