The Nass River Bridge, located on Highway 37 approximately 13 km south of the Meziadin Junction and 75 km east of Stewart, is a single-lane timber and steel structure. Surespan provided design-build services for this project and developed an innovative method for the bridge launch and existing bridge removal.
The approach utilized the new bridge as a de-launching truss, significantly reducing the outage time for bridge users and minimizing the dismantling of the old creosote bridge membrane over the river. Additionally, Surespan upgraded the existing concrete piers with new rock anchors and reinforced concrete, ensuring improved stability and longevity of the bridge.
