The rehabilitation of the existing King Street Bridge involved the removal of approach slabs and the bridge superstructure. Surespan excavated and removed the old abutments, cut the existing abutment piles, and installed new piles to support the structure. The project also included the construction of new abutments, the installation of new bearings, and the reinstallation of the bridge superstructure, along with expansion joints and new approach slabs. Additional work involved upgrading the approach rails and completing roadwork to accommodate the revised bridge elevation. This project showcases Surespan’s expertise in bridge rehabilitation, structural upgrades, and infrastructure solutions.
