As a result of the wild fires of 2016 in the Kamloops area, a public bridge near Cherry Creek sustained serious damage. The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure mobilized a 70′ steel deck portable bridge from Surespan Bridge Rental to maintain flow of traffic until a new design could be developed and a new bridge built.
